Text Counter
The Text Counter analyzes any pasted or typed text and reports its characters, words, sentences, and paragraphs instantly, with everything computed in your browser and nothing uploaded anywhere. How it works: as you type or paste, the tool splits the text on whitespace for word counts, counts raw characters with and without spaces, detects sentence boundaries from punctuation, and reads paragraph breaks from line spacing — all in real time, so the statistics update with every keystroke. Writers use it to hit assignment and publication length requirements; students use it to verify essays against minimums and maximums; marketers use it to keep meta descriptions, headlines, and social posts within platform limits, where a single extra character can mean a truncated title; translators and editors use the counts to estimate workload and pricing. Because the analysis is local, it is safe for unpublished drafts, client work, and confidential documents. Tip: when a platform gives a character limit, draft in the counter rather than in the platform itself — you keep a copy of the text and see the limit coming. You can also browse the other tools on the Spark Site home page or search the collection on the tool search page.
